Collectively, the County of Santa Barbara and City of Santa Barbara own 6 collections, sponsor 3 galleries, host 2 permanent sculpture installation sites, and have commissioned many works of public art. Learn more about the governmental art spaces and projects below.

In addition to the City and County-owned art, there is a tremendous amount of public art-making throughout the county, much of which connects back to the County Arts Commission or City Arts Advisory Committee. Community favorites include mural programs in Guadalupe, Lompoc, and Santa Barbara's Funk Zone.
